The Heat knock out the Nets. Suns win in 2OT.

First and foremost my mind for once isn’t on the NBA. It’s on sex! But that’s actually a given. No, dear reader, my mind is on a certain fight tonight that is big news here in Oz-straya and it’s of course between Choc Mundine and Danny Green! I’ll be at the local, and not only that I’m one of the rare
people out there cheering for ‘The Man’. I can write another dissertation on Mundine and why he is so vilified in Australian society due to factors such as race, amongst other things, but I’m not going to do that because this space is reserved for the NBA.
Speaking of knockouts New Jersey bit the dust today and bid adieu for the 2005-2006 season with their defeat at the hands of Miami 106-105. The 4-1 series beating by Miami didn’t accurately reflect the fact that this was a close match-up between the two teams. Unfortunately, for New Jersey, Dwayne Wade is a primetime performer and was the difference between the two teams. Flash scored 21 points, while stealing Jason Kidd’s last second pass to deny the Nets a potential last breath victory. Antoine Walker also had a big night with 23 points, while Shaquille O’Neal had 17 to complement D-Wade’s play.
As any chimp could tell you that this game was a close one, and the Nets didn’t go down without a load of resistance. Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson both scored 33 points for the Nets, but it was to little avail as their brilliant nights were offset by the solid performances by the Heat stars.
The players from the M-I-A can now relax in South Beach and check out beautiful senoritas, drinking sangria, while they wait for their next opponents in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Today’s contest between Phoenix and Los Angeles was also a nail biter that went into double OT. The Suns triumphed with 125-118 conquest to take a 3-2 lead in this Western Conference semi-final contest.
This game saw sloppy play in regulation and drama galore, with Shawn Marion apparently going down hard after a put-back stuff, but come back, and let his testicles hang out. While, a dramatic three pointer by Raja Bell has Phoenix just one win away from meeting Dallas (yes, I know, rather premature again but I like going out on a limb).
How did the MVP perform? A tidy, yet untidy, 17 point and 13 assist performance.
Perhaps the most noteworthy news to come out of this game was the fact that avid Lakers fan Jack Nicholson was on hand to lend support to the ugly step-sister of Los Angeles teams. My man Jack has still got to be the coolest mofo out there at 60 or so years of age!
Well, there you have it, we saw the team from Jersey take a mob hit by the crew from Miami. While in the sunny side of the States, Phoenix is one step closer to possible NBA immortality.
In summation there is nothing like the smell in the air of a big title fight. Even if it is Australian-centric! Let’s go Choc Mundine! I know you have a lot of haters out there but I love ya bro! Mundine bombaye!
