Suns and Mavs Win! Heat too Hot for the 'D'!

Happy, happy, joy, joy! Yes, I realise I am a day late but my life is completely hectic and trying to find the time to write some days is almost an impossibility. However, all of the Conference semi-final games are done and dusted and we have your winners: Phoenix over Los Angeles (4-3) and the best result of all Dallas over San Antonio (4-3)!
The final game in the Dallas/San Antonio clash was a classic with the Mavs trumping 119-111 in OT. Everyone’s favourite German Dirk Diggler had an amazing game with 37 points and 15 rebounds. On the other side Timmy (say it in the South Park way) Duncan also had a massive night with 41 points, 15 rebounds and 6 dimes. Sorry, Timmy. Better luck next time!
As the score line would suggest this was an epic game seven with Dallas squandering a massive 20 point lead and were about to go down in history as one of the biggest choke teams ever in the league, but the Big Sauerkraut had other thoughts. With the precious seconds ticking away in regulation and the Mavs down by three, Dirk Diggler drove to the hole scored on the layup and the subsequent free throw. San Antonio having one last chance for victory was denied once again by the big German with a game saving block. Does anyone remember the final scene in Boogie Nights where Dirk lets it hang out? That was how big the sauerkraut was if his performance could be measured by penis inches!
In the other semi-final in the west, Phoenix played their usual run and gun game with emphatic results crushing the Clippers 127-107. Steve Nash stepped up and had an MVP game with 29 points and 11 dimes. The man was feeling it, scoring and dishing and letting the sweet sound of the net swoosh through with his three point shooting. The floppy haired Canadian wasn’t the only one from the Suns feeling it, Marion (30 points), Leandro Barbosa (18 points), Tim Thomas (16 points), Boris Diaw (14 points) and Raja Bell (10 points) all produced for Phoenix when it mattered most.
Dallas now face Phoenix in the Western Conference finals and as any NBA fan would know Steve Nash left Dallas for Phoenix for a massive contract. Mark Cuban the owner of the Mavs felt that paying a 30 year old big dollars wasn’t a wise investment. Is two straight MVP titles an answer for you Mr. Cuban? In all fairness Dallas have also grown as a unit since Nash left and the current situation for both parties has worked to their advantage. Kudos to that!
Moving to the eastern side of the seaboard Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals happened today with Miami beating Detroit 91-86 with Dwayne Wade stepping up for the Heat once again with 25 points, while getting contributions from Antoine Walker (17), Gary Payton (14) and Jason Williams (10) to take a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.
The role players for Miami got it done for them today with Payton leading the way.
Detroit are undoubtedly tired from their epic series against the Cavs but don’t expect them to take this one lying down. Game on!
