Seventh Heaven in the NBA.

(Sung to the tune of Stealers Wheels ‘Stuck in the middle with you’) Germans to the left me…Germans to the right…Here I am stuck in the middle with you.” Yes, I am surrounded by law students who are sauerkrauts! No, offence to the German students, because I have love for all of my fellow
human brethren, and they make such good porn! But my love is reserved for an even more special group of people. It is you my dear reader for which I have the greatest love and adoration for. Now, all together: “Awwwww”.
Well, now that the big love fest is over and done with onto the NBA. Detroit has once again become rock city after coming away victorious 84-82 to tie the series, and send it to a sudden death seventh game. While the battle for Texas isn’t quite over yet with the hated Spurs beating the Mavs 91-86 to also send the series to a seventh game. Why won’t San Antonio just lie down and die already?!?!?! Jeebus!
Michael Finley the once much loved Mav, now much maligned Spur, helped defeat his old team with a 10 point third quarter effort to crush the spirits of his old teammates. Manu Ginobili also had a big game scoring 30 points, while Tim Duncan had 24 to lead the way for San Antonio.
Since I have Germania on the brain Dirk Nowtizki the big sauerkraut had a massive night, 26 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists. The big man got little, to no assistance from his fellow Mavs. The team also sorely missed Jason Terry who was suspended for this game for giving a shot in the gonads to Michael Finley. If you ask me he should have been given the MVP for that low blow.
The war in Texas has ebb and flowed with great drama along the way. This match-up is deserving of a seventh game, but we all know where my allegiances lie.
Detroit finally chalked up a win after losing three straight and looking down the barrel of the elimination gun. Wow, where do I come up with such eloquent imagery? These gold nuggets must come from the deepest parts of my prostate!
The men from Eight Mile had to rely on their immense experience and poise to come away with this game. It almost ended in high drama when in the dying seconds LeBron James intentionally missed a free throw and Chauncey Billups almost tipped it in for Cleveland! Now, that would have been a disaster! Which is a classic understatement.
Rasheed Wallace who has been proven wrong so far in this series with his bold predictions and proclamations finally had a game to remember with 24 points. While the Phantom of the Opera aka Rip Hamilton was an able sidekick scoring 17.
The concluding minutes of this classic game six was full of commotion with Detroit taking the initiative, while the man-child LeBron James tried to keep his team in it but to no avail.
Game seven is in the ‘D’ and it is going to be a battle of heavyweight proportions. As the greatest was fond of saying: “Let’s get it on! Cos, we don’t get along!”
On a final note my beloved AFL team the Western Bulldogs are in town to play the damn local team who are somehow the reigning premiers. For all of you out there who don’t know I am a rabid Victorian who has decided to call Sydney home for now due to a little university course that I am doing. I just want to give a shout out to the Mavs and the Pistons, while proclaiming Victoria as the best State in Oz!
