NBA Loud - by Rick Gillispie

NBA Power Rankings: Western Conference (Dec 30, 2011)

The Western Conference season has started out a little strange to me. The Champions Mavericks are 0-3. The Lakers started season 0-2 before winning last two games. Memphis, Utah, Minnesota and Phoenix have not won yet and New Orleans is undefeated.

Crazy I know but somethings are right. Oklahoma City is 4-0 the only team in the NBA with four wins. Portland, San Anotonio and Denver have started season good. Being only five days into season things will change alot in the next few weeks.

Western Conference Power Ranking
Dec 30, 2011

#15 Dallas 0-3

#14 Minnesota 0-2

#13 Utah 0-2

#12 Phoenix 0-2

#11 Memphis 0-2

#10 Sacramento 1-2

#9 Houston 1-1

#8 LA Clippers 1-1

#7 LA Lakers 2-2

#6 Golden State 2-1

#5 New Orleans 2-0

#4 Denver 2-1

#3 San Antonio 2-1

#2 Portland 3-0

#1 Oklahoma City 4-0

The Thunder are simply the best team in the West so far but look for changes in rankings as more games get played. Check back next week for the new Western Conference Power ranking.
