NBA Player Fires Shots and is Hit by a Car Outside a Strip Club.

Disclaimer: NBALOUD is an unabashed fan of Ron Artest so there’ll rarely be any criticism of Ron Ron here on these pages. One of the grating things of the most infamous brawl in American sporting history was that Ron Ron got most of the rap, when his former Indiana teammate Stephen Jackson was the one that was that was going the most loco.
Now, of course this is all subjective and many readers will probably disagree with NBALOUD but on this space Artest is the shit.
Where is this all going? Well, a few days ago the aforementioned Stephen
Jackson was involved in a fracas outside of a strip club that could have costed his life. Action Jackson has a notorious off-court reputation and there is no doubting the man’s ghetto fabulous credentials.
During the altercation Jackson was allegedly hit by a car driven by Deon Wiltford where Stephen fired a gun in self defence. Jackson also copped a whack in the face as well as being mowed down by the car.
Jamaal Tinsley, Marquis Daniels and Jimmie Hunter who are teammates of Jackson in Indiana were also with Jackson during their little jaunt to the local titty bar. Coach Rick Carlisle in an understated manner said that the players exercised a lack of judgement of being out late at night during training camp. Well, slap me silly and call me Sally if coach wasn’t stating the bleeding obvious.
Stephen Jackson has expressed remorse over his actions and relief that he is still able to wake up to “fight” another day. President of the Pacers Larry “legend” Bird said he was disappointed with what transpired, especially when considering the team is still trying to clean up there image after that infamous brawl.
The apology proved to be fruitless for the fuzz because the police decided to charge Jackson with a felony for criminal recklessness and misdemeanour counts of battery and disorderly conduct due to Jackson going Scarface and firing wildly into the air with a gun. The charges carry a possible penalty of six months to three years in the clink.
Criminal charges directed at Jackson may prove to be a bit of a problem because he was also put on a year’s probation for his part in the basket-brawl and was slapped with an extra year penalty for not fulfilling all his terms of his probation. Action Jackson may be in a little trouble here.
Marijuana – the drug of choice for the NBA was also found in Jamaal Tinsley’s ride but no charges or arrests were made because three others were also in the vehicle and the police couldn’t determine who owned the marijuana. Obviously the occupants of the car listened closely to Robert De Niro’s character in Goodfellas when he said “keep your mouth shut and never rat on your friends.” Word.
Oh, one last thing. In the summary of Jackson’s charges the police report stated that Jackson kicked a man with a physical deformity. Ghetto!
