NBA Fantasy Mock Draft - Round 6

September 8th 2007 02:30
61 Brad Miller
He can be one of the best fantasy centers with his wide variety of skills, but he has to be on the court to do it. If he is over his foot problems then he is worth taking a few picks earlier, but if there is news that he still has as injury then think about Spencer Hawes as a fantasy draft sleeper.

62 Tony Parker
When playing for fantasy teams in previous seasons, he didn't contribute any 3-pointers and his free throw percentage was a bit low. Parker was much better with free throws last season and during the finals he showed he could hit the 3-pointer. So Parker might put it all together and have his best year for fantasy stats.

63 Tyson Chandler
It took Chandler a while to adjust after the trade to the Hornets, but towards the end of the season he was putting up some points while still doing his primary job of rebounding and blocking shots. His field goal percentage was over 60%, his free throw percentage was under 60%.

64 Kevin Durant
Seattle is now without Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis, so someone else there will need to shoot the ball now. Durant was up to the challenge in college and he should score a lot of points in his first year in the NBA. Durant might be able to average a block, a steal and a 3-pointer per game. He will also hit his free throws. Durant was getting double and triple-teamed in college and that could occur regularly in the NBA. His field goal percentage could be somewhere from 42% to 45%, and he might turn the ball over a bit. Durant is a superstar of the future, and in some drafts he will go several rounds earlier as people think the future stardom for Durant may only be a couple of months away.

65 Mo Williams
He decided to stay with the Bucks, and will be a point guard with plenty of shooters to pass to. Redd, Simmons and Charlie V should hit plenty of shots and Williams will assist on a bunch of them. Williams also knows what to do when it comes to shooting, and his 3-pointers should also help fantasy teams.

66 Ron Artest
The best idea might be to let someone else draft him. His percentages are inconsistent, he gets injured a bit and there is always the chance he does something strange and gets suspended. His fantasy value is linked to the high amount of steals he can get.

67 Manu Ginobili
He is a superstar of the NBA, but there are times when he comes off the bench for the Spurs and that means he doesn't have the playing time that other shooting guards do. Manu can sometimes play 10 minutes fewer per game than some shooting guards, although his numbers don't take a big hit as he does a lot in a small amount of time.

68 Richard Hamilton
Great shooting and plenty of points, and around 4 assists and 4 rebounds per game, fantasy GMs know what they are getting when they draft the consistent Hamilton.

69 Raymond Felton
The Bobcats brought back Jeff McInnis but that should not hurt Felton's playing time. Felton can steal the ball, and he might increase his numbers to 2 steals per game, he can afford to gamble a bit on defense with Okafor and G Wallace there to help. Felton's assists are very good, and Jason Richardson could help increase them. One problem is Felton's field goal percentage, he might have put in the work during the offseason and will get it over 40% this season.

70 Jason Richardson
The Bobcats didn't trade a top 10 pick to have Richardson sit on the bench, he will play a lot and be their primary offensive weapon. Richardson can score but is a bit streaky, his field goal and free throw percentages can be lower than most shooting guards.

71 Chris Kaman
When Elton Brand was injured, Kaman's fantasy value rapidly went up. With more minutes and more responsibility as the Clippers main inside player, Kaman should increase his numbers to 10 rebounds and 2 blocks a game. Fantasy teams also benefit from his good free throw percentage for a big-man.

72 Ricky Davis
This could be a risky pick, he clearly isn't part of Minnesota's future and his contract will expire after the upcoming season. He might start the season averaging 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists but if Minnesota can find a team willing to trade a pick and ending contract for Davis he could be moved to a team with much less playing time and a smaller role for him. Fantasy GMs who draft Davis might want to think about trading him if a good offer comes along during the early weeks of the season.

Elton Brand is injured, and will miss a big chunk of the season, so Kaman will be a more important player for the Clippers and for NBA fantasy teams.(Picture from nba.com)
