Michael Jordan Involved in Sex Lawsuit. NBA Player Charged with Drug Possession.
July 24th 2006 11:04
In the words of the immortal Michael Jordan when he returned to
basketball from retirement: I’m back! Yes, this NBA writer survived the weekend snowboarding trip in one piece and eager to write about the comings and goings of the world’s best basketball league. It is common knowledge that the majority of consumers of the written word are interested in sex and drugs and why shouldn’t we begin with our first entry back with those two aforementioned topics?
Michael Jordan might be the best basketball player that has ever existed, but that doesn’t discount the fact that he is human, with all the faults of being a mortal. This page has made a lot of jokes about groupies in the NBA but the reality is they do exist, and are out there to entice NBA players. No, this writer is in no way implying that the women out there are sexual predators that are preying on naïve basketball players. The players are just as much to blame for their behaviour as the women involved. However, some of these women don’t help themselves when they try to extort money from NBA players.
She take my money/When I’m in need
Yeah, she’s a trifling/Friend indeed,
Oh, she’s a gold digger/ Way over town
That digs on me…
In the early 90’s His Airness became involved in an extramarital affair with Karla Knafel and was accused of being the father of the child conceived by her. The classy Ms. Knafel took legal action against Jordan which accused him of reneging on a deal to pay $5 million in hush money to keep their affair quiet from the public.
Judge Stuart E. Palmer in Cook County Circuit Court ruled that the alleged agreement between Jordan and Knafel was invalid, while the child was proven not to be Jordan’s.
Palmer ruled that "as a result of Knafel's fraudulent misrepresentation to Jordan that he was the child's father or, alternatively, as a result of a mutual mistake of fact, the alleged settlement contract is voidable and ... unenforceable.” (Yahoo Sports)
In 2002 Jordan sued Knafel for extortion when she threatened to go public with their affair. In a counterclaim Karla accused Jordan breached the $5 million contract to keep quiet.
Knafel has stated that she will appeal the decision delivered by Palmer.
Now, for the drugs. Former NBA super-freak Shawn Kemp has been charged with possession of marijuana once again. If the All-Marijuana team had a bench, The Reign-man would have definitely featured in the squad. Kemp was pulled over by a sheriff who found two grams of weed in his possession and faces court on the 28th of July.
Kemp was once an unbelievably talented basketball player who fell from grace being involved with drugs and women. As the years passed the once physically impressive Kemp became fat and unfit, whilst losing all his mojo.
Shawn checked himself into rehab in 2001 for cocaine use, but not even Betty Ford could help the man.
So, there you have it dear reader. We had drugs and sex. What else could one ask for? Diagrams, perhaps? Well, if that’s the case google both sex and drugs. Oops, I forgot. The internet is not a depository for smut! It is a good wholesome medium (cough, cough).
