Gilbert Arenas Makes a Miracle Final Second Game Winner. Plus, Awesome Michael Jordan Video.
March 22nd 2007 11:32
The Bucks horror season continues unabated when they lost their two best big men for the rest of the 2006-2007 campaign when Aussie Andrew Bogut and the vastly underrated forward Charlie Villanueva both went down with injuries.
Bogie missed the first game of his NBA career when he sprained his ankle during the contest with the Los Angeles Clippers. The unlucky Aussie re-injured the ankle in practice and has been ruled out for the rest of the 2007 season.
According to the Bucks, Bogut was in constant pain and concern for their young pivot prompted the team to sideline Andrew for the rest of a lost season. Milwaukee has taken the somewhat sage decision to give one of their best young assets time to heal.
Surgery has been ruled out for Bogut but for Villanueva who is suffering from a chronic shoulder injury will require arthroscopic surgery.
In other NBA news Ron Artest faces four misdemeanour charges stemming from his alleged altercation with his wife. The charges of battery and corporal injury to a spouse, false imprisonment and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime were filed during the week.
Ron-Ron was arrested on March the 5th and had to post a $50, 000 bond to secure his release.
Moving onto on-court news we witnessed a marquee match-up between Dirk Nowitzki and LeBron James whose respective teams faced each other with the Mavs overcoming the Cavs, 98-90.
Dirk Diggler finished the night with 23 points whilst King James had 31, but both struggled for accuracy from the field. Fortunately, for Dirk his teammates managed to outplay the rest of the Cavs to secure another Dallas win.
Gilbert Arenas take a bow because you have once again displayed your last second heroics for the entire world to see. This time his last second shot wasn’t your run of the mill game winner – this was something else.
Allow Tim Booth for the AP newswire service to describe this shot from Agent Zero: “Arenas crossed over Earl Watson, drove with his left hand, then switched to his right and banked in a short-runner at the buzzer, capping a 42-point performance and giving the Washington Wizards a 108-106 victory over the Supersonics…”(Booth, AP, 2007)
Think Agent Zero would leave it at that? Wrong. After making that miracle shot Arenas jogging off court decided to leave his jersey on the free throw line hoping the Seattle fans would cause a mini riot in gaining such a keepsake. The opposite happened.
Take a bow though Gilbert the Great for such a marvellous performance!
Today’s clip is a tribute to Michael Jordan. Please check out this video because it is the coolest thing ever.
