Dwayne Wade Suffers a Serious Injury.
February 22nd 2007 12:05
Poor Miami, just when things were starting to look like they were getting back on track for the Heat with the return of Shaq and Pat Riley than this happens – losing their shining jewel on the crown with Dwayne Wade dislocating his shoulder in their loss to the Rockets, 112-102.
We can safely assume that Flash is the one player the Heat cannot live without, especially with Shaq no longer able to single-handedly put on his Superman cape and carry his team to victory every night.
The Miami/Houston game was the televised contest today on ESPN and it was very sad to see Wade in such immense pain that he was actually crying. No, matter what your thoughts are of Wade one can’t help but feel sympathy for the poor guy. The Heat’s championship defence seems rather doomed this moment.
Flash suffered the shoulder dislocation after getting tangled up with Shane Battier and grimaced in pain. A few minutes later we saw a teary Wade being carried off to the lockers in a wheelchair.
Losing today’s game was also the proverbial rubbing of the salt into the wounds as well.
Tracy McGrady also didn’t show any mercy continuing his outstanding form since Yao was felled with a very nice 32 point performance.
In MVP discussions the one name that continually is overlooked is T-Mac who is having a superb year whilst his team continues to win without Yao. Once the big fella was downed with a broken leg the Rockets weren’t expected to do much, especially since Ming was having an MVP calibre season himself. Instead we see McGrady carrying his team on his creaky back and playing very good team basketball in the tough Western Conference.
So, from today onwards NBALOUD is an advocate for ‘T-Mac 4 MVP’ hype. Word.
As mentioned on this space a few days ago Scottie Pippen has put out notice to the NBA that he is available and keen on joining a contender. With that in mind the latest rumours related to Pip centre around the Lakers and the Cavs. The recent injury to Laker Vladimir Radmanovic has opened up the possibility for Scottie to reunite with Phil Jackson. Kobe has reportedly endorsed the idea as well.
The second team in the Scottie sweepstakes is the Cavs, who feel they could benefit from Pippen’s experience, whilst being their big time ball handler and playmaker. NBALOUD loves Scottie and would very much dig watching the man strut his stuff once again.
