Summary
First and foremost apologies should be articulated to all NBA fans out there for the belated update of yesterday’s results. It was Saturday and NBALOUD had a bunch of pressing things to accomplish such as twiddling thumbs and staring at ceilings. Unfortunately for readers of this space there were some wonderful games and match-ups!
We may as well begin this update with the game that was witnessed by NBALOUD live on television which was the Spurs and Cavs contest that showcased some of the best basketball talent on the face of this planet!
LeBron James was not only spectacular in scoring 35 points on perhaps the best defence in the league, whilst leading his team to victory away from home, but managed to absolute wreck Tim Duncan with a monster dunk right over the man. We’re talking about a mammoth facial mixed in with a dash of posterisation! Timmy was Bron Bron’s gimp and King James was cool as a cat straight after the event with a strut that would have not been out of place in Saturday Night Fever.
The Cavs came and they conquered, ‘nuff said.
In the game involving perennial NBALOUD favourite Allen Iverson and his 76er’s bore witness to a contest in which the great man hit a fall away runner with 2.2 ticks left on the clock. AI was possessed scoring 39 points and hitting his buckets in every conceivable way. Iverson got great assistance from Kyle Korver aka Ashton Kutcher who scored 28 points from 10-of-13 shooting.
Perhaps the best part of this contest was the resurrection of Grant Hill who led the way for the Magic scoring 25 points and being the best player on his team. NBALOUD used to dislike Grant for the most of inane of reasons but that isn’t the case these days. Grant, you are the shit.
The return of the Chosen One otherwise known as Kobe Bryant resulted in a familiar result for the Lakers thus far – a win. Bryant dropped 23 points, while Lamar Odom the Scottie Pippen of this generation led the way with 28. If the Lake Show continues to play the way they have been they will be a scary proposition with perhaps the most talented player in the league on board.
Finally, Ben Wallace, Chicago’s newest recruit sought out Ron Artest after their game and the two hugged it out like they were on Entourage. Awwww.
For anyone who isn’t familiar, Big Ben and Ron Ron were the original sparkplugs that lit the fuse on perhaps the most infamous night in NBA history. It’s good to see the two making peace after the drama that transpired almost 2 years ago in which a basketball contest turned into a WWE royal rumble.
For anyone who cares Ron Ron managed a very nice 22 points, while grabbing 13 boards and playing his usual hardnosed defence. Also, and perhaps most importantly, the Kings got the ‘W’.
