Brook Lopez is the best 2nd year player in the league

While Derrick Rose won the Rookie of the Year last year he is not the best player this year.

Brook Lopez is simply the best 2nd year player in the league this year. Yes, he plays on the worst team in the league but his stats don't lie.

Here are my Top 5 players in their 2nd year in the league.

1. Brook Lopez 19.0 ppg 9.4 rpg


2. Derrick Rose 19.8 ppg 5.9 apg

3. Kevin Love 15.0 ppg 11.8 rpg

4. O.J Mayo 18.1 ppg

5. Russell Westbrook 15.8 ppg 7.3 apg

Their are pleanty of talented young players in the league but these are my top five.

Other Players to take a look at are Marc Gasol, Michael Beasley, Eric Gordon and Jason Thompson.

Dallas gives Knicks a beating

The Dallas Mavericks walked into Madsion Garden missing two starters and walked out with a 50 points slacking of the Knicks.

Dallas won the game 128-78 to give the Knicks their worst loss at home.


Seven Dallas players score in double figures.

The 50 point win was the largest in Dallas franchise history.

The loss was so lopsided, Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni spent more time chuckling during his postgame press conference than expressing anger or frustration.

"It's hard to even comment on this game. It was so bad in every area. It's regretful, but it happened. We just try to flush it down the toilet and get ready for the next one," he said.

"They were very good," D'Antoni said. "They were much more athletic than we were today. They played harder. They shot the ball extremely well. You see why they're one of the top teams in the West."

"We're not gonna dwell on it. We got a game on Tuesday," D'Antoni said. "Tuesday we need to get a win and get back."

A must see classic tonight!

At 8pm ET one of the two basketball games of the night will tip-off. If you are any type of basketball fan you will be watching it.

The Lakers vs Cavs isn't just another game it is a classic matchup of two of the greatest players of or time and two of the best teasm this season.

Lakers 32-9 and the Cavs 32-11 are easily going to make the playoffs and should make deep runs so yes this could be a finals prequal.

Lebron James is aveargaing 29.6 ppg while Kobe Bryant is scoring at a rate of 28.3 ppg. With these two guys on the court anything can and probaly will happen.

How about everyone. It doesn't matter if you caome of bench for 2 min. You always need to be at your best in games like these.

As the NBA season nears the halfway point lets take a look at how the Rookie stack up against each other.

This is my top 10 list of the top rookies this year:

10. Tyler Hansbrough (Indiana) 8.5 ppg 4.8 rpg 1.0 apg

9. Marcus Thorton (New Orleans) 9.3 ppg 2.0 rpg .9 apg

8. James Harden (Oklahoma City) 9.8 ppg 3.2 rpg 2.1 apg

No matter what people say about youth sports for the kids its all about the trophies. For a kid to get a trophie at a young age is one of the greatest things the can do.

Oklahoma City looking for first playoff apperance

The Oklahoma City Thunder are looking for their first playoff apperance in franchise history.

The Thunder led by Kevin Durant are sitting in the Ninth playoff spot. The are .5 game out of eight but are within 3 games of being in the fifth slot.

The Thunder need to watch out from behind to with two teams within .5 game of them.

Durant is averaging 28.9 ppg. He also is pulling down 7.10 rpg.

Russell Westbrook and Jeff Green are also leaders on this team with Westbrook averaging 16.5 ppg and Green with 14.0 ppg.

With eight games left in the month of Jan. The Thunder need to go 6-2 to kkep pace in the wild west.

Evans leads Kings over Nuggets

With Carmelo Anthony not playing, the Sacramento Kings beat the Nuggets 102-100. Tyreke Evans scored 27 points and the last second shot that got the Kings the win.

Mr. Big Shot, as Chauncey Billups is known, was upstaged in Sacramento on Saturday night.

The Denver point guard drilled a high-arching 3-pointer to tie the game at 100-100 with just 11 seconds remaining. Kings rookie Tyreke Evans and second-year center Jason Thompson were in his face but the veteran was not fazed in the least.

Evans then made a highlight of his own, sending the Arco Arena fans into a frenzy.

With Denver's Kenyon Martin trying desperately to stay with him on defense, Evans converted a spinning 10-footer from inside the elbow of the paint.

Just 0.7 remained on the clock and the grinning Evans immediately turned around and did a shoulder-bumping celebration move with teammate Beno Udrih.

I need a car!

Having two young kids that will be driving in the next few years and also having a sister-in-law who will be driving next year. I have been looking at a few websites trying to find the right one. NBA's five worst teams in the league: #1 New Jersey Nets

With so much talk about the Lakers, Cavs and Celtics lets look at the worst teams in the league.

With out a doubt the worst team in the league is the New Jersey Nets. The Nets have a 3-32 record. 35 games into the season and they are already 24 games behind first place Cleveland.

The Nets have alot of young talent with Brook Lopez, Yi Jianlian, Chris Douglas-Roberts and Devin Harris. The Nets problem is defense the can't stop anybody. Giving up 101.2 pts a game while only scoring 89.7 pts a game.

With six of the next eight games on the road things don't look good for the Nets.
